§ 12-432. Body art and tattoo businesses—Regulations adopted.

  • (a)

    The city hereby adopts and incorporates by reference as if set out at length herein the latest editions of the Clayton County Board of Health Rules and Regulations for Body Art (hereinafter combined and referred to as the "regulations").

    (b)

    All body art and/or tattoo businesses of every kind or character operating in the city shall be operated in accordance with the regulations, and no permit shall be issued for the operation of such business(es) unless the same is to be operated in the city in accordance with the regulations. It shall be unlawful for any person to fail to comply with this subsection.

    (c)

    Where reference is made in the regulations to the duties of certain officials named therein, the designated official of the city who has duties corresponding to those of the named official in the regulations shall be deemed to be the responsible official insofar as enforcing the provisions of the regulations is concerned.

    (d)

    At least one copy of the regulations shall be kept on file in the office of the city clerk. The regulations shall be enforced in conjunction with and addition to any requirements under this article. Body art and tattoo business operators and employees shall be required to abide by the regulations and requirements of this article at all times. Ignorance of either shall not be considered a valid defense or excuse against enforcement as allowed by law.
